Let’s decide together.
I’m new to drones! I want a second drone! I travel a lot! – Which DJI drone should I buy?
If any of the above describe you consider purchasing the Mavic Pro.
The Mavic Pro is DJI’s lowest priced drone and provides great functionality in an easy to transport package.
Meet the Mavic Pro –
Described by DJI as “a portable, powerful and easy-to-use drone featuring DJI’s most innovative flight technology in a sleek, foldable package that enables creative fun wherever you go”
Mavic Pro’s four arms and propellers fold and reduce the drone to about the size of a water bottle. This makes it perfect if you are looking for a drone to take with you on the go, be that hiking, filming in a remote location, or traveling.
You don’t need to do much to put the Mavic Pro in the air. Its propellers stay on allowing for quick take off.
Mavic Pro may be operated by remote control, or by smartphone at shorter range. When using a cell phone it can be set up and airborne in less than a minute.
The Mavic Pro has a high quality stabilized 4K camera and a three-axis gimbal. It has 4K video at 30fps and full 1080p HD at 96fps.
Sharing much of the functionality of DJI’s larger drones, Mavic Pro includes FlightAutonomy which helps it to find a position, navigate and plan routes, and avoid obstacles even when there are no satellite signals.
DJI Mavic Pro has a 4.3-mile range and a 27 minute flight time.
Mavic Pro includes Sport Mode, ActiveTrack and Terrain Follow mode.
Other cool features include taking a dronie – that’s a selfie taken with a drone – by using hand gestures.
DJI Mavic Pro is available now for $999 including the remote controller, and $749 without the remote controller.
Taking great quality photos or videos is important to me! I am a professional! – Which DJI drone should I buy?

DJI have revamped their camera and on this drone it performs exceptionally well in challenging light, including low light.
There are two versions of the Phantom 4 Pro. The Phantom 4 Pro+ includes a built-in display unit. which provides a clear view of what you are filming and telemetry data no matter what condition you are flying in.
Like the Mavic, the DJI Phantom 4 Pro has an extended range of 4.3miles.
If long flight times are a consideration – and aren’t they always? – the Phantom 4 Pro flies for 31 minutes with full assisted functions turned on.
Safety has been made a priority with the Phantom 4 Pro. This allows you to concentrate on taking pictures and videos.
FlightAutonomy helps to avoid obstacles in a sensing range up to 98 feet at front and rear. This even works in complex 3D environments – you don’t need to be in an open field! – and without GPS.
Narrow sensing enhances obstacle avoidance sensitivity so the aircraft can fly through complex environments like narrow doorways. A big bonus for real estate photographers!
Other functionality includes ActiveTrack, New Circle, Profile Spotlight, and TapFly Free.
The Phantom 4 Pro retails at $1,499 and the Phantom 4 Pro+ is priced at $1,799. Both drones are available for pre-order with shipping beginning November 21st 2016.
