During the day cars and drones perform great without lights. When the sun goes down we switch the headlights on on our cars to improve visibility. However, drones don’t tend to come with headlights. Until Lume Cube.
Lume Cube is a small unit that snaps on to most popular drones. Controlled via Bluetooth on your mobile device it acts as a headlight for your drone.
With flash mode you can use your drone as a spotlight to light a scene, and with constant light you can ensure you don’t lose sight of it.
Remember! Be sure to check local laws on flying at night and with lights!
Take a look at what we discovered.
The Lume Cube – which started as a Kickstarter – was very popular with our crew. They all wanted to get their hands on one.
The Lume Cube is fully waterproof up to 100 feet, and gives over 2 hours of battery life at 50%. Packs are available for GoPro, as well as Yuneec Typhoon H, and DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire drones.
The DJI Phantom 4 kit includes: 2 Lume Cubes and 2 mounts. It retails at $179.99
Lume Cube also recently launched the DJI Osmo Stand.
This allows the Osmo to stand upright on any flat surface to protect it, simply by snapping the bottom of the Osmo handle securely into the top of the stand. Pretty smart! It retails at $19.99
